The Story Behind "Keep Breathing"

“Keep Breathing” is very personal to me. It came out of the overwhelming feeling that every day I was living was only to get to me to a day when there would be relief. I would write in my journal “just keep breathing, some tomorrow there will be a break through.”  The words were so close to me that it didn’t occur to me to write it in a song until I was having a conversation with a friend about it and he said, “you have to write this!” My desire is that the song is an encouragement to realize that as long as there is breath, there is hope, so don’t give up, you are not done yet.

What I've Been Up To

The last few weeks/months have been encouraging and busy and full of travel, which I love.[1]

Radio promo has been great.  I love meeting new people. I love seeing so much of the country in such a short time. It’s been FOREVER since I’ve been back to the Midwest since my family moved from there (Newark, OH). And even though I would never eat spaghetti on top of a hot dog, it still puts a smile on my face to see Skyline Chili everywhere and see so much Buckeye apparel being worn.

Welcome to my Website!

So, this is going to be my little place to reflect on the past, present and future.

I am constantly looking behind me and obsessed with pondering what is to come. I sometimes get out my old journals and read where I was this time last year. Time is always moving too fast and I always feel behind. And as I look at where I am now, I feel like it’s been a long journey to the starting line.

Villette by Charlotte Bronte

Villette. It’s been a few years since I’ve read this book, but I’m so excited to jump in again. I am somewhat Bronte obsessed and I read Jane Eyre at least once a year. I love the way Bronte expresses herself through her characters. I relate to her and so many times when I’m reading, she’ll say something that makes me smile to myself and circle yet another line.
